It’s no secret that society has gone downhill. People are doing the craziest things for the craziest reasons. When tragedy strikes, people immediately respond with hate and begin pointing fingers. Our broken world responds with more brokenness because there are so many broken people.
We don’t have to go to Africa or Haiti to be a missionary; we have plenty of broken people here at home who need to know Christ and His love.
It’s natural for us to want to avoid people with such brokenness, but they are broken and hurt nonetheless, just as we were before we met Christ. Instead of judging and putting down our society, it’s our job to be missionaries and share the gospel to all the broken and hurting people around us.
He wants to use us to declare the gospel to this lost and broken world. And we won’t be doing it alone. Not only do we have our Christian brethren beside us, but Jesus promised He would be with us and give us the words to say. If we all stick together and get to work, our society could make a total turnaround.
On Saturday, Sept. 2, Sou-thern Heritage will be at Ebenezer Baptist Church. The gospel group will open the program around 6:30 p.m. with The Wisecarvers taking the stage at 7 p.m. Also, The Wisecarvers are looking for a church to offer a singing for on Sunday, Sept. 3 as they make their way back home. For anyone interested, please contact me, and I can help get you to the right person to talk to!
Mark your calendars on Sept. 24, and come join Pinckney Baptist Church as they celebrate 170 years! This will be a very special homecoming service for the church, and they invite everyone to attend and celebrate with them. Services will start at 11 a.m. with a fellowship dinner to follow.
A shoutout goes to Mr. And Mrs. Gaines of Decatur, and I greatly appreciate their encouragement!
I hope everyone has a very blessed week.
