Downtown Newton was the host for the city’s National Night Out on August 27, a relationship-building event that promoted building a bond between community and public safety officials.
Taking part in the event was the Newton Fire Department, the Newton County Sheriff’s Department, the Mississippi Highway Patrol, and PHI Air Transport services, as well as some food trucks and a lemonade stand.
While the many public safety vehicles lines North Main Street for member of the community to take a close look at and interact with safety officials, the star of the show was the PHI Medical Helicopter, which landed on an empty lot and allowed those in attendance to have a close look at it and take pictures.
