Due to the increasing threat from Hurricane Francine, East Central Community College (ECCC) will transition all classes to virtual learning and close all offices on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024. The storm is expected to bring severe weather, including damaging winds, tornadoes, and flash flooding.
Normal operations will resume on Friday, Sept. 13, at 8 a.m.
The college has also announced the cancellation of tonight’s Suicide Awareness Event, which was scheduled to take place at the Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium.
While the campus is closed, ECCC’s Mabry Cafeteria will remain open to serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday. Students living in residence halls who remain on campus are urged to stay cautious and monitor weather conditions when traveling to the cafeteria. The Grille in the Student Union Building will be closed for the day.
