The Union Public Library will host Sip and Stitch on the fourth Tuesday of each month between the hours of 2-5 p.m. Sip and Stitch is a casual gathering of hand crafters.

Mobile Mammogram Unit Breast Screening at MS Regional Housing Authority
The Baptist Memorial Hospital Mobile Screening Mammography Service will be in Newton at the Mississippi Regional Housing Authority on Thursdays, Sept. 12, and Friday, Sept 13, beginning at 8:30 a.m. - until. If you are interested, visit the MRHAV front office and pick up a form to fill out. The MRHAV is located at 298 Northside Drive in Newton.
Union Country Day 2024
Union Country Day 2024 will be on Saturday, Sept. 21. Festivities include the County Gal/Boy Pageant, a 5K Walk/Run, a Car Show, a Kids Zone, plenty of vendors and entertainment throughout the day, and more. For more information, check out the Union Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
Todd Tilghman Live Benefit Concert
Todd Tilghman will be live in concert at Huff Auditorium on the campus of East Central Community College in Decatur on Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. This is a benefit concert for Tiffany Boyd. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door. 800 seats are available.
ECCC to hold “Meet the Warriors” Pep Rally
East Central Community College will hold its annual “Meet the Warriors” preseason pep rally at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, in Huff Auditorium on campus in Decatur. DJ Aaron Tullos will be playing music throughout the evening and will emcee the introduction of the 2024-25 Warrior student-athletes. The public is invited to this family-friends event. Point Blank Grillin’ food truck will be set up in front of Huff beginning at 6 p.m. and will be available at the conclusion of the event. Cornhole boards and games will also be available for fans to play.
All student athletes will be introduced, including baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, cheer, football, gold, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s soccer, and softball.
The Wall O’ Sound Marching Band and color guard, Centrallettes dance line, and the Warrior cheerleading squad will also perform throughout the event.
