A local business will be ending one chapter and beginning a new chapter this week.
Brae Brae’s Boutique will close its storefront for good on Saturday, the day before Mother’s Day, but they will be beginning a new chapter as they will continue their online business.
While it may just seem like a boutique on the outside, workers said that it’s much more, and it’s because of its owner, Brandi Reeves.
“We’re all just one big family,” said worker Lauren Addy. “All of us who work with her, every customer, anyone who has taken time to stop in the store and visit.”
Reeves opened the boutique in 2013 and has been mainstay of Decatur. She’s been active in the community, giving back to the schools and other organizations when she’s had the chance. Her storefronts have been the talk of the town, especially at Christmastime when her decorations have regularly earned her honors during the town’s Christmas lights contest.
But Addy said the most important aspect is how that she’s helped her grow closer to God.
“She has helped me grow in my faith,” Addy said. “She’s always there to listen to us, talk with us, cry with us and help us. I know my faith is stronger because of her.”
This final week of the storefront being open is a time to where she is taking time to thank her customers and employees for their loyalty over the years. Addy said some of her former workers are coming back, and customers are encouraged to stop by and visit.
While the storefront is closing, Reeves will continue to serve through an online business.
“It’s going to give her a chance to spend more time with her family,” Addy said. “She’s saying that this is just one chapter ending and another beginning. She’s still going to be here, but she just won’t have the storefront.
“Whatever you are going through in life, this is just a chapter in your life, not the whole story.”
All her employees wished to thank Brandi for being such an inspiration
