Mr. Dennis James Evans (L.K.) was born March 29, 1957, to the late Robert L. Evans, Sr. and Bobbie Jean Evans. He is the sixth of ten children born into a large close-knit family.
Dennis was folded into the arms of his Heavenly Father on March 3, 2025, at his home in Houston, Texas.
Dennis was a 1075 graduate of Hickory High School, where he was affectionately known as L.K. He was mischevious, but always a kind and caring person.
He made his confession of faith at Friendship Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor J.L. Hunter, and was baptized in a local pool known as “Chandler Pond”. Friendship was an integral part of his upbringing, with his mother assuring attendance each Sunday. He later joined New Providence M.B. Church in Houston, Texas.
Dennis relocated to Houston, Texas after graduation, and was employed for 25 years with ACI Glass Company. He retired from the company in 2005 after complications with his health. After years of health problems, he was admitted in 2014 to Vantage Hospice, and he was cared for at home, under the care of Vantage, his daughter, Denise, and his companion, Ms. Dianne Wright.
