The month of June is right around the corner, which means the time for local vendors to provide their homegrown products at the Newton County Farmer’s Market is near. However, this year’s farmer’s market will be moving to a new location in Downtown Newton.
Thanks to a partnership between the Newton County Extension Office and the Newton Chamber of Commerce, the 2025 Newton County Farmer’s Market will take place in the grass lot between Third Street and Fourth Street in Newton. Set against the backdrop of Newton’s historic charm, the market will be bringing fresh produce, handmade goods, and local flavor to the heart of the city.
This year’s market will run from June 14 through August 23, operating from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month during June, July, and August. If raining, the Farmer’s Market will moved to the Newton County Show Barn.
Organizers and vendors are preparing for a strong turnout, and community members are encouraged to mark their calendars, shop local, and support small growers and artisans.

Vendors Wanted
The Newton County Extension Office is still accepting vendors for the 2025 Farmer’s Market and invites those who would be interested in selling their produce to sign up.
“We’re looking for vendor’s who want to participate. We’ve waved all the vendors fees, so they’re no charge to become a vendor” said Extension Agent Shani Hay. “It’s a certified farmer’s market, so we just need them to come fill out an application and follow the rules of the Department of Ag Commerce.”
For more information on becoming a vendor and participating in the Newton County Farmer's Market, contact the Newton County Extension Office at 601-635-7011.
