Three people are in custody after a Newton woman was killed Sunday at a home on Pecan Road.
Sheriff Joedy Pennington said the suspects were arrested in connection with the murder of Marian Roncali, 44.
Carlos Roncali, 46, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and capital murder.
Today, James Roncali, 77, and Sherry Roncali, 78, were arrested and charged each with accessory before the fact to capital murder.
Justice Court Judge Scott Round denied the bond for Carlos Roncali, who was arrested at 11 a.m. Sunday and is being held in the Newton County Jail. James and Sherry Roncali, who were take into custody at 2:20 p.m. today, will have a hearing later today where their bonds will be set.
Pennington said Marian Roncali was found dead at a home in the 9800 block of Pecan Road.
“It was initially called in as medical call,” Pennington said. “When foul play was detected by the first responders, we were dispatched to the residence around 10:30 a.m., and we arrived on the scene about 10:40 a.m.”
Pennington did not want to release the cause of death at this time. He said the victim’s body was sent to the Mississippi Crime Lab to determine a cause of death. He also said the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has assisted the sheriff’s department with the investigation.
“I would like to thank the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation for their resources and assistance with this investigation,” Pennington said.
