The Newton County Academy boys picked up their first win of the season as they took a blowout win over Russell Christian.
The Generals outscored the Warriors 40-8 in the first half and cruised to a 57-30 win last week.
The Generals lost their other contest 63-24 while the Lady Generals won their only game last week, beating Wayne 54-38 behind a 26-point outing from Lilly Hollingsworth.
NCA has only one game this week as they are scheduled to travel to Meridian to take on Lamar School on Thursday. NCA will then be off until Dec. 29 when they play at the Columbus Christian Christmas Tournament.
NCA boys 57, Russell Christian 30
The Generals grabbed their first win of the season with a blowout victory over the Warriors.
The Generals raced out to a 22-4 lead in the first period and outscored the Warriors 18-4 in the second to lead 40-8 at the half. Russell outscored NCA 13-10 in the third and 9-7 in the fourth for the final margin.
Jackson Bunyard had a double-double for NCA with 20 points and 12 rebounds while Noah Agent added 14 points.
Wayne boys 63, NCA 24
The Jaguars scored at will in the first three periods and took a 39-point win over the Generals on Tuesday.
Wayne led 17-8 at the end of the first and then outscored NCA 23-14 in the second to lead 40-22 at the half. Wayne then outscored NCA 20-2 in the third to lead 60-24 going to the fourth.
Jackson Bunyard led NCA with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
NCA girls 54, Wayne 38
The Lady Generals started fast and cruised to a 16-point win over the Lady Jaguars.
NCA jumped out to a 22-3 lead in the first period and led 30-12 at the half. The Lady Generals outscored the Lady Jaguars 11-9 in the third and led 41-21 going to the fourth. Wayne took the fourth 17-13 for the final margin.
Lilly Hollingsworth led NCA with 26 points while Cayden Alexander had 11 points and Macie Woodham chipped in nine points.
