Services for Mr. Herman “Rudy “Adkins Jr. were held at 11 a.m., Friday , June 18, 2021 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union. Burial was in the Union City Cemetery. Bro. Byron Howell and Bro. Rusty Walton officiated.
Visitation was held 9:30-11 a.m. prior to the service on Friday at Milling Funeral Home of Union.
Mr. Herman “Rudy” Adkins, Jr., 69, of Union passed away on June 15, 2021.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen Adkins of Union; a daughter, Jana Garrett and husband Josh of Louisville; two sons, Ben Adkins and wife Nicky of Union and Bruce Adkins of Union; three grandchildren, Lane Adkins and wife Abi, Connor Adkins and Emberlyn Garrett; two sisters, Susan Grubbs and husband Mark of Clinton and Rita McCammon and husband Chris of Oxford; a brother, David Adkins of Louisiana.
Mr. Rudy is preceded in death by his father, Herman Adkins Sr.; mother, Verla Reeves Richardson; sister, Margaret Ann Kendrick.
Pallbearers were Barry Reeves, Ashley Burroughs, Lane Adkins, Jamie Feasel, Richard Reeves and Howard Lockey.
Honorary Pallbearers were former members of the 150th Combat Engineer Battalion.
Mr. Rudy retired after 36 years at ESCO. He retired as an E-6 in the Army National Guard after 30 years. Mr. Rudy was a member of the Praise Band of First Baptist Church Union. He will be missed by those who loved and knew him.
