Newton County had a busy week on the volleyball courts.

After taking two contests from Choctaw Central, Newton County played in the Oxford Tournament where they got in five contests.

On Tuesday, Newton County blanked Choctaw Central 3-0, winning 25-12, 25-19 and 25-22.

High School Football: Hornets beat Sebastopol in rivalry battle, 20-14

Sebastopol had won the last three matchups with rival Lake.

But on a muggy night in Sebastopol, Lake came home with the win.

The Hornets got a big game from Griffin Boles who threw three touchdown passes and had two interceptions on defense as Lake took a hard-fought 20-14 win over the Bobcats.
