BASKETBALL: Newton teams sweep Lake in district games

Newton made the short trip to Lake on Friday night and came away with a pair of wins.

The Lady Tigers took a hard-fought 42-28 win over the Lady Hornets and the Tigers cruised to a 56-17 win over the Hornets.

Newton has two road games scheduled for this week as they will go to Scott Central on Tuesday and at Union on Friday.
