Lake football coach Tate Hanna was worried about Puckett’s triple option offense.

But his defense assured the coach that they had it under control.

The Lake defense pitched a shutout as they took an early lead and rolled to a 36-0 win over Puckett on Thursday night.

Volleyball Roundup: Newton County and Lake Advance to State Championship

The Newton County Lady Cougars won their 10th straight game on Monday night and are headed back to the Class 4A championship game, two years after winning the title in 2023.

Newton County advanced to the 4A title game with a 3-0 won over Pass Christian, winning 25-21, 25-8 and 26-24.
