Funeral Services for Mrs. Rhonda Kay Robinson Williams, 65, was held Monday, May 3, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake with graveside to follow at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Newton. Brother Wayne Hemingway officiated services with Wolf Funeral Services directing the service.
Rhonda was born in Meridian on Sept. 22, 1955. She was raised in Hickory, where she met the love of her life at Hickory High School. She was happily married to Bob Williams for what would have been 48 years this month.
Rhonda was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Newton. She was a basketball fanatic and proudly displayed her famous “Larry Zonka” legs. After retirement from East Central Planning and Development, Rhonda spent time fishing, camping, and spending as much time as she could with her four granddaughters. The Trading Post in Newton will hold a forever special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Jeanette Robinson; a nephew, Tyler Maske; a brother, Terry Williams; and claimed son, Jamie Lee Hollingsworth.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bob Williams; daughter, Michelle Newell (Mark Cornish); son, Jason WIlliams (Seana Williams); 4 grandchildren Bralynn Newell, Mary Preston Williams, Molly Beth Williams, and Mattie Wilkes Williams, sisters Brenda Thorne (Gary Thorne), Linda Maske (Steve Maske), brother Keith WIlliams (Brandi Williams), nieces Ashley Williams, Jordan Maske, Kaitlynn Thorne, nephews Cody Maske, Jonathan Thorne, David Thorne.
Pallbearers were Andy McMillian, Charlie McMullan, Stephen Liggett, Bo Clark, Jaime Slay and Joedy Johnston.
Honorary pallbearers were Corey Bounds, Jerry Griffin, Brian White, Tony Adams, Roger Shirley and Greg Donald.
