Elijah A Johnson, a 10th grader in homeschool, received a Major League Mindset Award for his performance at The Best in U.S. Showcase which took place at the Dell Diamond Park in Round Rock, Texas, on Oct. 1 and 2.
This award has earned him a spot at a prestigious event : The 2022 National MLB Event which is by invitation only, which will occur on Oct. 15 and 16.
Parents are Amelia and Jason Johnson from Hickory.
“We are so proud of our son and his achievements,” they said.
The Best in the U.S. National Showcase – Central will be held Oct. 15 and 16, at Globe Life Field (home of the Texas Rangers) in Arlington, Texas will be the experience of a lifetime for players. Players will be hand-picked who have attended a Best in the US event to participate in this two day event. Top college coaches, professional scouts, and MLB/MiLB coaches will be in attendance to work and evaluate players.
