It’s one thing to make the major leagues. It’s another to make the MLB All-star game. Then there is being on every highlight from that all-star game after hitting the game-winning home run.
That’s exactly what happened to former East Central Community College standout Tim Anderson.
Anderson, who is the starting shortstop for the Chicago White Sox and one of MLB’s brightest young players, was a late addition to the all-star game, replacing Houston’s Jose Altuve.
Anderson didn’t make it into the game, which was played at Iowa’s Field of Dreams, until late in the contest. The game went into extra innings and Anderson came to bat and deposited a home run in the corn, setting off a wild celebration and making the shortstop the center of ESPN highlights.
