The Newton County Academy Lady Generals are getting hot at the right time.
The Lady Generals added two more wins last week as they beat rival Sylva Bay 8-7 and Kemper Academy 13-0 in their only two contests.
NCA improves to 12-13 on the season and defeated Calhoun on Monday to finish out the regular season.
Previously The NCA Lady Generals beat rival Sylva Bay 6-1 and then hammered Calhoun Academy 15-4.
NCA played in the Brookhaven Tournament, falling 7-1 to Centreville, 8-7 to Bowling Green and 14-2 to Central Hinds.
NCA 8, Sylva Bay 7
The Lady Generals scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to take a thrilling one-run win over the Lady Saints on Monday.
Sylva Bay score three in the first and led 3-1 through five innings before NCA scored four in the sixth. Sylva Bay scored two in the seventh to send the game to extra innings. Each team scored one in the eighth while Sylva Bay scored one in the top of the ninth. NCA then scored two in the bottom of the ninth to take the win.
Sylva Bay outhit NCA 11-10 in the contest as Belle Hollingsworth was 2-fo-r5 with a double and two RBIs. Adriane Luke was 2-for-5 with two RBIs while Lyddia Jones was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Cayden Alexander was also 2-for-5 and had three stolen bases.
Lilly Hollingsworth pitched all nine innings and gave up seven runs on 11 hits and struck out three.
NCA 13, Kemper 0
The Lady Generals scored early and often and took a run rule win over the Lady Rams.
NCA scored four in the first and eight in the second to go up 12-0. They added one in the fifth to round out the scoring.
NCA had just five hits but took advantage of four walks, four hit batters and six errors.
Belle Hollingsworth was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs scored while Adriane Luke and Sydnee Cosgrove each scored two runs apiece. Cayden Alexander, Lilly Hollingsworth and Addison Mathis each singled and scored.
Cosgrove pitched all five innings and gave up one hit and one walk while striking out eight.
NCA 6, Sylva Bay 1
The Lady Generals allowed just two hits and took advantage of six errors to take a five-run win over the Lady Saints on Tuesday.
Sylva Bay scored one in the first to take an early lead before NCA scored three in the fourth and fifth to take the win.
NCA had eight hits as Cayden Alexander was 3-for-4 with a double while Adriane Luke was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Sydnee Cosgrove was 2-for-4 and also stole two bases for NCA.
Lilly Hollingsworth pitched all seven innings and gave up one unearned run on two hits and a walk.
NCA 15, Calhoun 4
The Lady Generals scored in every inning to take a five-inning, run-rule win over the Lady Cougars.
NCA scored two in the first and fourth, four in the second and fifth and three in the third.
NCA had 13 hits in the contest. Belle Hollingsworth was 3-for-3 with two doubles. Cayden Alexander was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs while Lydia Jones was 2-for-4 with a double, triple, two runs scored and four RBIs. Macie Woodham was also 2-for-4 while Lily Hollingsworth tripled and scored two runs.
Lily Hollingsworth pitched all three innings and gave up four unearned runs on one hit and two walks while striking out four. Sydnee Cosgrove pitched the last two innings without giving up a hit.
Centreville 7, NCA 1
The Lady Generals only had one hit as they dropped a six-run decision on Saturday.
Centreville scored two in the second, four in the third and one in the sixth. NCA scored its only run in the fourth.
Cayden Alexander had NCA’s only hit and scored the only run.

Bowling Green 8, NCA 7
Bowling Green scored four runs in the fourth to come from behind and beat the Lady Generals on Saturday.
Each team scored three in the first while NCA scored three more in the second to take a 6-4 lead. But Bowling Green scored four in the fourth and held NCA to one in the bottom of the frame for the final margin.
NCA had nine hits as Lily Hollingsworth was 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and three RBIs. Sydnee Cosgrove was 3-for-3 while Belle Hollingsworth also scored two runs.
Lily Hollingsworth pitched all four innings and gave up eight runs on eight hits while striking out two.
Central Hinds 14, NCA 2
The Lady Cougars jumped out to an early lead and cruised to a 12-run win on Saturday.
Central Hinds scored five in the first and second and two in the third and fourth. NCA scored two in the third.
Central Hinds outhit NCA 10-7 but the Lady Generals committed nine errors. Macie Woodham was 2-for-2 with a double while Addison Mathis doubled and drove in two runs.
Sydnee Cosgrove started and pitched 3 2/3 innings and gave up 14 runs, only three earned, on 10 hits while striking out four.
