Decatur, MS - Algebra Nation visited Newton County High School Tuesday to recognize 9th-grade student Alexis Tran for her exemplary work in helping her peers across the state succeed in Algebra 1 by presenting her with an ipad.
Algebra Nation is a free, online resource custom-built for algebra students and teachers in Mississippi, that fosters a peer-learning environment by allowing students to ask each other questions via the Algebra Wall, an online message board. Students who answer questions on the Algebra Wall are awarded Karma Points. Each month, the top five students are given prizes as a reward for their dedication toward helping other students learn.
Tran, with the most Karma Points of students in Mississippi, was awarded an iPad.
The program provides around-the-clock support to more than 500,000 math students across six states, with personalized learning programs and 24/7 homework help from Study Experts, teachers, and peers. Students can download Algebra Nation’s free mobile app to get algebra help on-the-go! They can get help by watching standards aligned, instructional videos taught by their choice of engaging, high-energy Study Experts, so that they can learn in a
way that best fits their learning style and personality.
In addition, students enjoy after-hours homework assistance on the Algebra Wall and can check their understanding using the interactive Test Yourself! Practice Tool.
