The Lake Hornets picked up a pair of wins this past week.
The Hornets enjoyed a blowout win over Raleigh on Monday at the Newton Tournament, winning 69-14 before falling to Class 5A Wayne County 55-33 on Tuesday.
Lake then won the opening game of the Scott County Tournament, beating Sebastopol 47-40 before falling 53-19 to Morton on Friday in the semifinals.
Lake will get a stern test on Tuesday as they travel to Newton and will return home on Friday as they host Nanih Waiya.
Lake boys 47, Sebastopol 40
The Hornets held off a late charge by the Bobcats and took a seven-point win on Thursday at the Scott County Tournament.
Lake jumped out to a 13-8 lead in the first period and each team scored 14 points in the second period as the Hornets led 27-22 at the half. Lake then outscored Sebastopol 12-4 in the third and led 39-26 going to the fourth. Sebastopol outscored Lake 14-8 in the fourth for the final margin.
Curly Robinson led Lake with 22 points while C.J. Gilstrap had 13 points. Luke McGarrity led Sebastopol with 15 points while Jacob Williams had 12 points.
Morton boys 53, Lake 19
The Hornets struggled against the Panthers who advanced to the finals of the Scott County Tournament on Friday.
Curly Robinson led Lake with 13 points.
Lake boys 69, Raleigh 14
The Hornets dominated the Lions as they rolled to a 55-point win on Monday at the Newton Tournament.
Lake rolled in the first half as they led 22-3 at the end of the first and then outscored Raleigh 29-8 in the second to lead 51-11 at the half. Lake then outscored Raleigh 12-0 in the third to extend the lead to 63-11.
Curly Robinson led Lake with 20 points while Nyzavious McClendon had 11 points. O’Darius Johnson had eight points while Cameron Hunt added seven points.
Wayne County boys 53, Lake 33
The Class 5A War Eagles pulled away in the second half and took a 20-point win over the Hornets on Tuesday in the Newton Tournament.
Lake led 9-8 at the end of the first while Wayne County outscored the Hornets 15-10 in the second for a 23-19 halftime advantage. Wayne then pulled away in the second half, outscoring Lake 15-6 in the third and 15-8 in the fourth.
Curly Robinson led Lake with 20 points while Cameron Hunt added six points.
