Union resident Deandre McDonald is looking to give back to his community yet again. Over the past few years, McDonald has orchestrated numerous events for the children in Union, free of charge.
He has hosted summer, Halloween, Christmas and Easter events to make sure kids in the area had something exciting to do. This year, McDonald is planning on hosting an Easter event in the Union City Park. Due to the pandemic, McDonald said that they were not able to hold the Easter event; they were only able to hand out filled easter baskets. However, this year he is back at it with plans of a fun-filled afternoon involving a bounce house, free food and an egg hunt.
The event, which will be on April 3 at 3 p.m., will be kicked off with the egg hunt. Refreshments and snow cones will be offered once the hunt is over.
Along with all the festivities, there will be a dance contest where a cash prize will be given to the top dancer after three rounds.
To top it all off, McDonald will be giving away Easter baskets to the kids in attendance.
“I believe we will have enough baskets for every kid,” McDonald said. “I’m hoping we can continue to make this day special for the kids and grow closer as a community in the process.”
