Both Newton County basketball teams split a pair of games last week.
The Cougars took a big 56-34 win over rival West Lauderdale but fell 59-52 to Choctaw Central.
The Lady Cougars also beat West Lauderdale 58-15 and fell to Choctaw Central 66-38.

The Lady Bobcats beat Enterprise on Tuesday and Union on Saturday.
The Sebastopol boys lost both games, falling 64-49 to Enterprise and 56-40 to Union.
