Peaceful Walk Through Newton
Buddhist monks make their way through downtown Newton Saturday as part of their 'Walk for Peace' journey that started in Texas and eventually will end in Washington D.C. The group rested overnight at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery before continuing their walk east.
A group of Buddhist monks walked through Newton County last week as part of a cross-country pilgrimage to Washington, D.C., aimed at promoting peace, kindness, and compassion.
