BASKETBALL: Generals rack up four wins

The Newton County Academy basketball teams swept a pair of games from Laurel Christian this past week as both teams stayed undefeated.

The Lady Generals won 46-29 and 45-40 while the Generals won 56-33 and 56-45.

BASKETBALL: Lady Generals off to good start in hoops

The Newton County Academy girls basketball team got off to a good start this week with a pair of wins to open the season.

The Lady Generals beat Sharkey Issaquena 60-51 in their opening game and then followed up with a 49-36 win over Canton on Wednesday.
