The Lady Generals took a pair of 10-0 wins, beating Kemper Academy and Hebron Christian last week.

Newton County Academy cancels game for Friday

Newton County Academy’s game with Oak Hill set for Friday night has been canceled.

NCA head coach Arnie Oakes confirmed to sports editor Robbie Robertson that the reason for the cancelation is due to the COVID-19 illness.

The game will not be rescheduled, and the status of future NCA games were not known as of Thursday morning.

FOOTBALL: NCA 14, BENTON 37 – Generals get on board, but fall short on road

The Newton County Academy Generals made an improvement from week one, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a strong Benton Academy run game.

The Raiders scored 30 unanswered points and took a 37-14 win over the Generals on Friday night.
