Newton County High School recently hosted a Career Fair for high school seniors to get an opportunity to meet and talk to several colleges, military reps, and businesses about their futures after high school.
Hosted at the Newton County School District’s Vocational and Technological Center, high school seniors from throughout the county were invited to take part in the career fair.
Represented at the fair were several in-state colleges, military representatives, and corporations that included Mississippi Power, TraxPlus, Raytheon, SkillsUSA, MDOT, Weyerhaeuser, and BankFirst.
Bethany Wood, Career Coach at Newton County High School, said that the event was a great way for senior students in Newton County to start preparing for their paths after high school.
“We invited several of our area schools for our career fair. We’ve got seniors from Newton County High School, along with Newton County Academy, Newton High School, and Union High School,” said Wood. “It’s been an excellent event for these seniors. I’ve talked to several students who got really good information from several of the representatives here today.”
