DISTRICT 6-2A GIRLS TOURNAMENT: Lady Tigers rally from upset to take third place

The Newton Lady Tigers ran through the Division 6-2A regular season with relative easy.

But the Lady Tigers hit a road bump on Thursday as they fell 47-45 to Philadelphia in the 6-2A semifinals. The Lady Tigers responded on Friday as they beat Lake 41-28 to finish third in the tournament.

UNION BASKETBALL: Girls beat Newton, boys dominate Philly

It was an up-and-down week for both Union basketball teams this week as they finished out the regular season.

The Union girls opened the week with a 56-53 loss to Philadelphia but closed out the week with a 41-34 win over regular-season division champion Newton on Friday night.
