Services for Henry Keith Ooten, Sr. were held on October 5, at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Lawrence, MS, with Bishop Walter D. Halbert officiating.
Henry Keith Ooten, Sr. was born October 7, 1963, in Los Angeles California to Mr. William Jeff Ooten and Ms. Lenora Buckley (who preceded him in death). One brother, William Jeff Ooten, Jr. and two sisters, Mary Cox and Jacqueline Ooten also preceeded him in death. He departed this life on September 28, 2024. Keith dedicated his life to Christ at an early age. He was baptized and became a member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. Keith attended Newton High School, whee he graduated. He was well known in the community for being an outstanding mechanic and handyman. He married Sonja Dukes in 1995 and together they had three beautiful children.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Sonja Dukes; seven children, Deborah Gray, Keith Henry Gray, Henreka Ooten (Jimmy), Henry Ooten Jr. all of Newton, MS, DaLena Ooten (Micheal), Raphael Scott and Shaketa Dukes all of Lawrence, MS; two sisters, Charlene Thomas of Los Angeles, California and Dorothy Roberts of Lawrence, MS; three brothers, Darnell Edwards, Dwight Ooten and Donald Edwards (Tina) all of Lawrence, MS; William Gerald Edwards and two adopted sisters, Zarata and Shirley Mann both of Lawrence, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
