Services for Mr. Stuart Branning were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union. Burial was held at Union City Cemetery. Bro. Thomas Fortenberry officiated.
Visitation was held from 9:30-11 a.m. prior to Chapel services on Thursday.
Homer Stuart (Beulah) Branning, age 73, passed away on Jan. 1, 2024. He was born to Clay and Helen Branning in Philadelphia on Feb. 13, 1950.
After graduating from Philadelphia High School, he worked at ESCO Corp in Newton for 13 years. He then became a firefighter at NAS, Meridian until his retirement in 2005. As a young man, Stuart loved breaking and training horses, riding trails out West with friends, coaching Little League baseball, and playing his harmonica and singing in a band. During his retirement years, he spent his time hitching up the mules to ride all day in his wagon or enjoying the company of his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Becky Branning; daughter, Lisa Hagan - Merritte; son, Doug Branning (Jessi); sister, Tohynia George; seven grandchildren, Kolt, Riley, Josie, Heidi, Slayde, Lola, and Scarlett; great-grandchild, Raelynn; and three nephews and three nieces.
Pallbearers were Kolt Hagan, Riley Hagan, Scott George, Robbye Warren, David Warren, and Shane Allen.
Milling Funeral Home of Union was in charge of the arrangements.
