April 16, 1958-February 6, 2026
Donna W. Rash, age 67, of Union, Mississippi, was called to her eternal home on Friday, February 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. A lifelong pillar of the Union, Donna was a woman of immense heart, extraordinary talent, and an unwavering faith that served as her compass through all of life’s seasons.
A member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Donna’s life was a living testament to the commandment to love one’s neighbor. She spent the majority of her professional journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where her gentle touch and nurturing spirit provided sanctuary to many in their most vulnerable moments. Her legacy of caregiving was most profoundly felt within her own home; in her later years, she poured her wisdom and love into raising four of her grandchildren, ensuring they grew up anchored in the strength of family.
Donna was a true "Renaissance woman" with a creative soul that knew no limits. Whether she was holding a paintbrush, a needle and thread, or a sketch pencil, her hands were the instruments of her imagination. She possessed a rare, brilliant mind—equally adept at the grit of building a house as she was at the grace of designing a couture wedding gown. Beyond her artistry, she will be forever remembered for her infectious sense of humor and quick wit, which remained bright even during her bravest moments. Donna was a tireless fighter; throughout a lengthy illness, she never allowed her circumstances to dim her positivity or her laughter.
Though she was a woman of countless gifts, Donna’s crowning achievement was her family. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Sha Parker (Greg); her sons, Derek Rash and Richie Rash; her brother, Kenny Winstead; and her sister-in-law, Jackie Winstead. Her vibrant spirit lives on through her ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, her aunt, Patsy Lovern, and a host of cherished nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend and dedicated caregiver, Sarah Lathem, whose loyalty was a great comfort.
She now rests in peace, reunited with her parents, Max Winstead and Faye Harris; her stepfather, Harvey Harris; her sister, Rita Smith; and her brothers, Mike Winstead and David "Sonny" Winstead.
Services to honor Donna’s beautiful life were entrusted to the John E. Stephens Chapel in Philadelphia, Mississippi.
