Sarah Burkett Miller, 95, departed this life on November 1, 2023 at home in Decatur, Mississippi.
She was born on October 17, 1928 to Lorena Webb Graham and Willie George Graham in Scott County. Her family moved to Brandon, and Sarah attended Brandon High School and graduated from The Business School for Legal Secretaries. She was employed by Roden, Patrick, and Nutt and retired from Watson, Ludlama and Stennis. She enjoyed 70 years of legal work. Sarah was a long time member of the Oakdale Baptist Church of Brandon, Mississippi where she taught Sunday School for a number of years.
Survivors include her husband, Price Miller of Decatur, Mississippi; daughter, Lynndell Spears of Brandon, Mississippi; and son, Wendell "Buddy" Burkett and his wife Janet of Brandon, Mississippi. Sarah has three grandchildren, Zack, Melanie, and Mandy and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is her first husband, Clarence Eugene "Pete" Burkett; brothers, Tanneth Graham and John W. Graham.
Services were on November 6, 2023 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, Mississippi. An hour of visitation was held before the service, with burial at the Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery in Brandon immediately after the service.
