The event, which ran from July 26-28, 2024, featured some of the world's top golfers, with Ogletree standing out as a formidable competitor.
As a member of Phil Mickelson's HyFlyers GC team, Ogletree's consistent play earned him a prize of $534,500, adding to his growing list of accolades this season. His success in England follows a strong third-place finish at the LIV Golf Adelaide tournament earlier this year, showcasing his ability to compete at the highest levels.
Reflecting on his recent performance, Ogletree shared valuable advice he received from Mickelson, which has been pivotal in his recent form. "I’ve always been a guy who likes to hit a cut. I’ve recently had some left wrist stuff going on, so I always kind of cut by getting flexion in my wrist and that hurts now, so I’m trying to figure out how to do it in different ways. Phil gave me a tip to get my right hip deeper on the backswing which keeps the club down in front of me, gets the shaft deeper without doing it with my wrist, so that’s kind of what I’ve been running with and it worked today so hopefully we’ll keep going," Ogletree explained.
This advice from Mickelson has clearly been instrumental, allowing Ogletree to adapt his technique and continue to perform at an elite level despite physical challenges. His current ranking of 33rd on the LIV Golf money list, with total earnings of approximately $2.46 million, underscores his growing status in professional golf.
