It’s that time of year again.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year in the newspaper business: Profile time.
It’s one of the projects that we do that we have a love-hate relationship with. We love it because it’s one of the opportunities we have to write about people that we don’t normally feature in the newspaper each week. We hate it because the newspaper business doesn’t ever stop and give us time to focus solely on it.
News is always happening. We have the daily and weekly grind of producing a news product every week. It’s no different from your jobs or even your classes.
That being said, it is worth the extra work and a little bit of extra deadline pressure to produce this every year.
And this year, I think this may be the best one that we’ve done since I’ve been here. You can see how hard the Appeal’s staff has been working the last several weeks to prepare this special edition.
The edition will be released on March 25 in that week’s edition of the Appeal. It will also be available on the website and other locations around town. We will keep copies of the edition so that you if you missed the edition you can come by and pick up copies of it as well.
The edition will be released on the week of Loose Caboose Festival, which I’m excited about. So all of our visitors from out of town will be able to see the special section too.
I want to thank Thomas, Heather, Jason, Marty and Mrs. Agnes for all their hard work and effort to make this such a great special section.
