Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Dontavious Towner and to the entire Lake High School family.
Dontavious was going to be a senior at Lake this coming year. He played in the high school marching band and was on the basketball team. He was in the National Honor Society and was well on his way to becoming a college student.
“He was a very smart kid who had a bright future,” Lake High School Principal Lee Killens said. “He would have left here and went to a four-year college. He was either going to Ole Miss or Southern. He would have been an honors graduate.”
Unfortunately, his life was cut short last week in a car crash. A very large contingent of Lake students, teachers and community members turned out to honor him in a vigil the day after the wreck.
There are no words that we can say that will end the grief that his family and friends feel today. We pray that you will all be comforted by God and by each other through this difficult time.
