My name is John Everett. I am married to my beautiful wife Donna; together we have six children and four grandchildren. I am a lifelong Republican resident of Newton County. I attend Greenland Baptist Church. I have been an Electrical Technology Instructor for 20 years at East Central Community College, if elected I will resign to be your fulltime supervisor. I am Assistant Fire Chief for Decatur Volunteer Fire Department where I have served as a member for 27 years. I have owned my own business since 1998. A favorite part of my business is buying, selling, and operating construction equipment.
My plan if I get the honor to serve as Supervisor of Beat 3 is to create Better Roads and Better Government. I plan to accomplish this by communicating. I know that communication is the best way to create change. I believe there is a more efficient way to spend YOUR tax dollars, in order to provide better roads/bridges, and support the Sheriff, Volunteer Fire Departments, and our Ambulance Service. As Supervisor my priority is YOU and our COUNTY. I will be available via phone call, text, and email anytime you have a concern and will create a Facebook page where residents of Newton County can voice their concerns. You choose your preferred method of communication to contact me day or night. I am available to you right now. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me on any of my platforms.
I am focused on the trash problem, of which I have already looked into effective solutions. A part of my plan as Supervisor is to pave roads that will best serve our resident’s needs and maintain and improve our existing roads. I support our emergency services and their mission to serve the residents of Newton County. Again, I know that communication is the key to success, so I will communicate with local and state officials. I am a supporter of industry and small businesses, and always support further growth.
I would be honored to have your vote on August 6th for the primary election. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Please know that the views expressed during this campaign will be personal and do not necessarily represent the opinions of my current employer, East Central Community College.
