The Newton Board of Aldermen has reappointed Shannon Moore to the Newton Municipal School Board for another five-year term.
The move was approved 4-0 with Michael Hillie abstaining due to his job with the Newton school district.
Mayor Murray Weems said Moore was willing to serve another term on the board. Because of that, the aldermen didn’t want to ask the community for applicants to fill the position as they have done with previous school board positions.
