Despite finishing third in their district, the Sebastopol Lady Bobcats are one of four teams standing in the state.
The Lady Bobcats took down Eupora last week in a tight three-game series. Sebastopol won the first game 6-5 on Thursday before falling 10-6 on Friday. The Lady Bobcats then took a tight 7-6 win on Saturday.
Sebastopol improves to 27-5 on the season and will take on East Union this week in the Class 2A North state finals. Game 1 of the series is scheduled for Thursday at East Union while game 2 would be on Friday in Sebastopol. The if-necessary game would be Saturday at 6 p.m.
Sebastopol 6, Eupora 5
The Lady Bobcats overcame an early deficit and took a one-run win over the Lady Eagles on Thursday.
Eupora scored two in the first and third innings while Sebastopol answered with three in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth. Eupora scored one in the bottom of the seventh but the Lady Bobcats got a strikeout to end the game and preserve the win.
Each team had 10 hits in the contest. Savannah Crout was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs while Hanna Boleware was 2-for-5 with a double. Emma Smith was also 2-for-3 and scored a run.
Crout pitched all seven innings and gave up five runs with just two earned on 10 hits and a walk while striking out three.
Eupora 10, Sebastopol 6
The Lady Eagles needed extra innings but scored six runs in the top of the eighth to take the win on Friday.
Eupora scored three in the first and one in the second and led 4-0. After two scoreless innings, Sebastopol scored four in the fifth to tie the game. Eupora then broke the game open in the eighth with six runs while the Lady Bobcats answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning.
Sebastopol had seven hits as Savannah Crout was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Emma Smith was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Kadence Robertson, Bryleigh Myers and Cyrish Magculang each had singles and an RBI.
Crout pitched all eight innings and gave up 10 run on nine hits and three walks while striking out five.
Sebastopol 7, Eupora 6
The Lady Bobcats scored three runs in the top of the seventh and then held off a late charge from the Lady Eagles to take a one-run win and take the North 2A series on Saturday.
Eupora scored four runs in the bottom of the second and led 4-0 through three innings. But Sebastopol then scored three in the fourth and one in the fifth to tie the game at 4-4. The Lady Bobcats then scored three in the top of the seventh and held Eupora to two runs to take the win.
Sebastopol had seven hits and took advantage of four errors. Savannah Crout was 2-for-4 with two RBIs while Cyrish Magculang was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Hannah Boleware, Jaylee Coleman and Emma Smith each had singles for the Lady Bobcats.
Crout pitched all seven innings and got the win, giving up six runs on eight hits while striking out two.
