“Yes, ma’am.”
That two-word phrase and its counterparts of “No, ma’am,” and “yes/no, sir” are as ingrained in me as biscuits and pure cane molasses. It’s a core part of my polite, respectful country, Southern upbringing.
It doesn’t matter your age, etc., it’s how I will respond 99.97 percent of the time.
