I hope all the mothers in the community had a fabulous Mother’s Day weekend! It was so wonderful to spend the weekend with my mama and sit beside her in church Sunday morning.
It’s clear that mothers are s
pecial, and they are angels on Earth. Whenever we need prayer, Mama is usually the first person we run to. I know if I’m sick or worried or nervous, Ma is my remedy. I’ve seen her prayers work many times!
It’s like this story I heard from a TV preacher: A man had been on six different ships on the way to Australia.
Each ship had sunk, but he was rescued each time. On the final rescue ship, the man was told of an old woman who was on her death bed. People were tired of seeing the woman suffer, but her dying wish was to see her son one last time.
The captain of the ship asked the man to pretend to be her son so the woman could finally pass on. The man agreed to accept the mission. But when he walked in the room of the old woman, he looked into the eyes of his actual mother. It was his mother who was praying to God to see her son one last time. I can’t remember all the details of the story, but it is a true story; a true story that shows evidence of just how powerful a Mother’s prayer really is.
Not even six sunken ships or a raging sea could stop the prayer of the mother to see her son once more.
The power behind mama’s prayers is just the reason why we run to her in life’s storms. Be thankful for mama and her prayers!
Speaking of prayer, prayers go out to Mrs. Sara Richardson who has been battling cancer and undergoing chemo treatments.
Also, pray for a quick recovery for Ms. Leisa Taylor who fell and broke her wrist this past weekend.
I hope everyone has a blessed week. Please keep me updated on prayer requests and community news by emailing me at bradley.katie93@gmail.com.
