I’ve only been married for a little over a year now, and I knew from the beginning that it wasn’t going to be easy. I took classes and read books and did a few counseling sessions to prepare myself, but of course, it’s nothing like the real thing.
Overall, Brad and I are very blessed and have had a great life together so far! But it’s not always easy. There are days we could kill each other, and we both ask ourselves “Why did I ever think I could be married?” Of course, that’s just the anger and stress talking, and we are happy as can be once we get everything settled.
Just like marriage between husband and wife has ups and downs, so does our spiritual marriage with Christ. In our Christian journeys, we are going to have days where we feel like we can’t take it anymore.
Even as the bride of Christ, marriage is hard, but the greatest things are never easy. There are great blessings ahead for you when you stick it out.
And another great thing about marriage is you don’t have to fight alone; that’s why you have a spouse. Christ is with us every step of the way on this bumpy ride.
Whether it’s storming or the heat is steaming, I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Please be in prayer for everyone traveling, and continue to remember all those working out in the sun.
