For the past month, Sunday night messages have been interesting as Bro. William Savell teaches on characters in the Bible. This past Sunday night, he discussed Sarah. We are all probably familiar with how God changed Sarah and Abraham’s names, but the emphasis goes on “God changing their names.”
He then asks us, “Has God changed your name?” Once we are saved, we go from “orphan” to “child of God.” We go from “sinner” to “forgiven.”
If we were to walk around with the stick-on name tags that read “Hello, my name is ...” what would yours read according to if God has renamed you. I hope like the Matthew West song, it would read, “Hello, my name is Child of the one true king!”
Continue to remember the family of Clara McMullan, and also Billy Taylor and his family for they have had colds and bronchitis fill their household. And a special prayer request for Royce and Sara Richardson for they also have been experiencing some illnesses.
And let’s also remember to pray that we are bigger givers than receivers as we approach this holiday season. I hope everyone has a very blessed week.
