Basketball: Lake sweeps Sebastopol, falls to Forest

It was an up and down week for the Lake basketball teams.

Lake swept a pair of games from Sebastopol as the Lady Hornets won 44-26 and the Hornets took home a 59-44 win.

On Friday, Lake lost a doubleheader to rival Forest as the Lady Hornets fell 46-26 and the Hornets lost 50-32.

Newton boys sweeps Philly, Kemper County

The Newton boys picked up two more wins this past week with a pair of single-digit wins.

Newton held on to beat Philadelphia 65-61 on Tuesday and then beat Kemper County 51-43 on Friday.

Basketball: Lady Generals dominate 2 games

The Newton County Academy girls picked up two more wins last week, winning both by double digits.

The Lady Generals beat Discovery Christian 33-15 and then beat Laurel Christian 58-29 while the Generals dropped both games. The Generals lost 32-25 to Discovery and 40-29 to Laurel.
