The Lady Yellowjackets played error-free softball as they took a 7-1 win over Lake on Monday.
Union scored three runs in the first and four runs in the fifth inning. Lake scored its only run in the fifth inning.
Union had nine hits in the inning as Dallas Brown was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Kayleigh Vance was 2-for-4 with two runs scored while Camryn Holly and Jordan Turner were each 2-for-3. Britli Cleveland had a single and drove in two runs. Debbie Hunter also scored two runs.
Ansley Rigby gave up six hits and gave up just one run.
Lake had six hits in the contest while Alana Edwards was 2-for-3 with a double. Laurel Breland, Landry LeBlanc and Reagan Clark each had hits.
Reagan Clark was tagged with the loss, giving up seven runs, six unearned, on nine hits and one walk.
The two teams will meet again on Monday at Lake in a 6:30 p.m. contest.
Union’s next scheduled game after Lake is Monday, Aug. 27 at home against Newton County.
Brookhaven Aca. 5, NCA 3
Brookhaven scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take a two-run win on Tuesday.
NCA scored one in the first, sixth and seventh. Brookhaven scored one in the fourth and fifth and three in the seventh to take the win.
NCA had eight hits in the contest as Abbie McGee was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Marla Graham was 2-for-2 with a triple while Belle Hollingsworth was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Kaleigh Cosgrove had a single and scored a run while Jordan Russell also had a single.
Taylor Evans was tagged with the loss, going all seven innings and giving up five runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out six.
NCA has three games scheduled this wee as they are set to host Wayne on Monday and Clinton Christian on Tuesday. The Lady Generals are scheduled to host Simpson on Saturday.
