After a wet spring, the Union softball team finally got some games in this past week, playing four games at the Enterprise Tournament.
The Lady Jackets struggled at the plate on Thursday, as they were no-hit by Enterprise in a 10-0 loss and no-hit by Newton County in a 9-0 loss.
On Friday, Union grabbed a win as they beat Louisville 13-3 and then lost 12-2 to Northwest Rankin.
Union (2-5) hosted Northeast Lauderdale on Monday and will return to Division 4-2A play on Friday, as they travel to Philadelphia.
Union 13, Louisville 3
The Lady Yellowjackets grabbed their second win of the season with a run-rule victory over Louisville on Friday at Enterprise.
Union only had five hits but took advantage of 14 walks and had six stolen bases. Dashayla Jackson singled, walked twice and scored two runs while Kayleigh Vance singled, walked twice and had two RBIs. Ansley Rigby and Anna Grace Blount each walked three times while Rigby scored twice. Debbie Hunter also walked twice.
Britli Cleveland pitched the first two innings, getting six outs in just nine pitches. Dallas Brown pitched the final three innings and gave up three unearned runs on two hits while striking out five.
NW Rankin 12, Union 6
Northwest Rankin built a big lead early and cruised to a 12-2, six-inning victory on Friday.
Northwest Rankin scored one in the first and fourth, five in the second, two in the third and finished off with three in the sixth.
Union had six hits, led by McKenlee McDaniel who was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Ansley Rigby singled and scored while DaShayla Jackson, Dallas Brown and Anna Grace Blount also singled.
Dallas Brown started on the mound and pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up 12 runs on 12 hits and six walks.
Enterprise 10, Union 0
The Lady Bulldogs threw a no-hitter at Union and took a five-inning win on Thursday.
Enterprise scored two in the second, fourth and fifth innings and four in the third inning.
Enterprise outhit Union 6-0. McKenlee McDaniel walked twice for Union. While Anna Grace Blount also walked.
Britli Cleveland pitched the first three innings and gave up six runs on six hits and two walks while Dallas Brown pitched the final 1 2/3 innings and gave up four unearned runs on four walks.
