The Lake Hornets got the bats rolling this past week with a pair of run-rule victories.
The Hornets pounded Noxapater 15-1 on Thursday and then finished the week with a 12-1 win over Pelahatchie on Friday.
Lake, 3-1 on the season, is set to return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Morton and will finish the week on Friday as they travel to Sebastopol.
Lake 15, Noxapater 1
The Hornets built an early lead and cruised to a run-rule win over the Tigers on Thursday.
Lake scored six runs in the first inning and finished with two in the fourth and fifth innings and five in the sixth.
Lake had 12 hits in the contest as Will Geter had a big day, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. East Tune was 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs. Ben Moore had a two-run home run . Kenny Ray Hanna drove in two runs. Nathon Lott scored three runs . Noah Thornton, Seth McGee Jalen Gray each scored two runs apiece.
Logan Palmer pitched the first four innings to pick up the win as he gave up one unearned run on two hits and three walks . striking out five. Brady McGee pitched a scoreless inning and struck out three . Tune also pitched a scoreless inning.
Lake 12, Pelahatchie 1
The Hornets got a no-hitter from Riley Bell and took a run-rule win over the Chiefs on Friday.
Lake scored 11 runs in the first inning and one in the third to take the win.
Lake had eight hits in the contest and drew six walks. East Tune was 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs . Logan Player was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Brady McGee was 2-for-4 with two runs scored . Will Geter scored twice and had two RBIs. Nathon Lott walked twice and scored two runs . . Noah Thornton also walked twice.
Bell was dominant in his five innings of work as he struck out eight.
