The Lake Lady Hornets picked up a win in the Bay Springs Christmas Tournament last week.
The Lady Hornets beat rival Scott Central 48-37 but fell to Leake County 42-33. The Hornets dropped both games they played, as they fell 64-39 to Leake County and 56-38 to Magee.
Lake will return to play on Friday as they host Scott Central in a division contest.
Lake girls 48, Scott Central 37
The Lady Hornets used a big second period and held on to take an 11-point win over the Lady Rebels at the Bay Springs Tournament.
Each team scored 11 points in the first period but Lake outscored the Lady Rebels 19-9 in the second period to lead 30-20 at the half. Each team scored nine points in the third and Lake used a 9-8 advantage in the fourth to take the win.
D’Nara Barton led Lake with 12 points while Laurel Breland had 11 points. Ameria Ervin had nine points and Laneisha Palm added four points.
Leake Co. girls 42, Lake 33
The Lady Hornets weren’t able to hold onto a second-half lead as the Lady Gators pulled away in the second half to take a nine-point win.
Lake led 7-6 at the end of the first and 19-17 at the half. Leake started to pull away in the second half as they outscored Leake 13-8 in the third and 12-6 in the fourth.
Laurel Breland led Lake with 11 points while TraShaylah Wilson had nine points.
Leake Co. boys 64, Lake 39
The Gators outscored the Hornets in every period to take a 25-point win.
Leake took a 14-9 lead in the first period and outscored Lake 23-13 in the second to lead 37-22 at the half. Leake continued to extend its lead in the second half as they outscored Lake 14-8 in the third and 13-9 in the fourth.
Danarrious Hughes led Lake with 15 points while Brady McGee had 11 points and C.J. Gilstrap added seven points.
Magee boys 56, Lake 38
The Trojans used a steady supply of offense and took an 18-point win over the Hornets on Saturday.
Magee led 14-12 at the end of the first and 26-25 at the half. Magee pulled way in the second half as they outscored Lake 14-5 in the third and 15-8 in the fourth.
Brady McGee led Lake with 13 points while Devonte Rankin had nine points. Danarrious Hughes and Jaylon Theus each added seven points apiece.
