After a close loss to host Lamar, the Newton County Academy Generals grabbed a much-needed win over Patrician Academy on Saturday.
After losing 41-38 to Lamar, the Generals beat the Saints 49-31 on Saturday.
The Lady Generals lost both of their contests, falling 70-36 to Lamar on Friday and 57-42 to Tuscaloosa Academy on Saturday.

NCA boys 49, Patrician 31
The Generals got off to a good start and took a hard-fought 18-point win over the Saints.
The Generals jumped out to an 18-9 lead in the first period and led 29-16 at the half. NCA outscored Patrician 9-4 in the third to lead 38-20 going into the fourth.
Riley Boswell led NCA with 14 points while Kemp Alderman had eight points and five rebounds. Austin Upton also chipped in seven points.
Tuscal. Aca. girls 57, NCA 42
Tuscaloosa pulled away in the third period and took a 15-point win over the Lady Generals on Saturday.
Tuscaloosa led 18-11 at the end of the first and each team scored 14 in the second as the Lady Eagles led 32-25 at the half. Tuscaloosa then put the game away in the third, outscoring NCA 17-0 to lead 49-25. NCA outscored Tuscaloosa 17-8 for the final margin.
Jordan Russell led NCA with 13 points and five rebounds while Belle Hollingsworth had 12 points. Sara Beth Bounds also pulled down seven rebounds.
Lamar School boys 41, NCA 38
The Raiders used a big fourth period to come back and take a three-point win over the Generals on Friday.
NCA led 8-7 at the end of the first and trailed 17-16 at the half. The Generals outscored the Raiders 13-9 in the third to lead 29-26 going to the fourth. Lamar outscored NCA 15-9 in the fourth to take the win.
Kemp Alderman led NCA with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Lamar School girls 70, NCA 36
After a close first period, the Lady Raiders pulled away to take a 34-point win over the Lady Generals on Friday.
Lamar led just 16-12 at the end of the first period before outscoring NCA 16-4 in the second to lead 32-16 at the half. NCA took the third period 18-16 to cut the lead to 48-32 going into the fourth. Lamar pulled away in the fourth with a 21-2 advantage.
Belle Hollingsworth led NCA with nine points while Asten Russell had eight points and seven rebounds. Jordan Russell also pulled down nine rebounds.
