The Lake Lady Hornets picked up two more wins last week.
The Lady Hornets beat Morton 52-43 and Ethel 46-32 but fell 46-22 to Bay Springs.
The Hornets won one of three games, beating Ethel 37-34 while falling 44-35 to Morton and 61-42 to Bay Springs.
Lake has just one game scheduled this week as will host Sebastopol on Monday. After the Christmas break, Lake will play in the Bay Springs Tournament
Lake girls 40, Ethel 32
The Lady Hornets led early and held on to take an eight-point win over the Lady Tigers.
Lake jumped out to a 13-2 lead and led 21-15 at the half. The Lady Hornets outscored the Lady Tigers 18-10 in the third to take a 39-25 lead into the fourth.
LaNeisha Palm led Lake with 10 points while Tra’Shaylah Wilson and Laurel Breland each had eight points apiece.
Lake boys 37, Ethel 34
The Hornets picked up a much-needed win as they took a three-point win over the Tigers.
Lake jumped out to a 13-4 lead but trailed 17-15 at the half. Lake outscored Ethel 10-7 in the third to take the lead back at 25-24. The Hornets outscored the Tigers 12-10 in the fourth for the final margin.
Brady McGee led the Hornets with 17 points while Jalen Theus had seven points and C.J. Gilstrap added six points.
Bay Springs girls 46, Lake 22
The Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Hornets in every period and doubled up Lake to take a 24-point win.
Bay Springs jumped out to a 14-7 lead and held a 22-14 advantage at the half. Bay Springs continued to add to its lead, outscoring Lake 8-3 in the third and 16-5 in the fourth.
Monica Pinkston led Lake with six points while Laneisha Palm and Kiana Odom each had four points apiece.
Bay Springs boys 61, Lake 42
The Bulldogs used big bookend periods to take a 19-point win over the Hornets.
Bay Springs jumped out to a 19-7 lead but Lake took the second period 16-14 as the Bulldogs led 33-23 at the half. Lake cut into the lead in the third, outscoring Bay Springs 17-12 to trail 45-40 going into the fourth. But the Bulldogs pulled away in the fourth, outscoring Lake 16-2 to take the win.
Danarrious Hughes led Lake with 15 points while C.J. Gilstrap and Brady McGee each had eight points.
Lake girls 52, Morton 43
The Lady Hornets overcame a slow start and took a nine-point win over the Lady Panthers.
Morton jumped out to an 11-3 lead but Lake outscored the Lady Panthers 16-12 in the second and trailed 23-19 at the half. Lake took the lead in the third as they outscored Morton 16-5 to take a 35-28 lead. Lake outscored Morton 17-15 in the fourth to take the win.
Tra’Shaylah Wilson led Lake with 16 points while Ameria Ervin had 11 points. Laneisha Palm also added six points.
Morton boys 44, Lake 35
The Panthers broke open a close game in the fourth period to take a nine-point win over the Hornets.
Morton led 16-10 at the end of the first but Lake took the second period 10-6 to pull within 22-20 at the half. Each team scored six points in the third but Morton pulled away in the fourth, outscoring the Hornets 16-9 to take the win.
Jalen Theus led Lake with 10 points while Brady McGee had seven points. C.J. Gilstrap and Danarrious Hughes each had six points apiece.
