The Newton County Academy Generals only got in one game this past week and should be well rested for a key two-game series with the playoffs on the line.
The Generals hammered the Meridian Homeschool Flyers 20-0 on Thursday in their only game of the week.
The Generals, now 11-12 on the season, will take on Clinton Christian in a two-game series this week to end the regular season. The Generals will travel to Clinton on Tuesday and host the Warriors on Thursday. The Generals need to sweep both games to finish second in their district and make the Class 2A playoffs.

The Generals had little trouble in a blowout win over the Flyers on Thursday.
NCA scored four in the first and 16 runs in the second.
NCA had 12 hits and drew eight walks. Hayden West was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a home run, three runs scored and four RBIs. Kemp Alderman was 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs while Braxton Thoms was 2-for-2 a pair of doubles, two walks, three runs and three RBIs. Alec Thompson was 2-for-2 and scored two runs while Lee Hollingsworth scored two runs and Jacob Smith had two RBIs.
Alderman started on the mound and pitched two innings, giving up one hit and two walks while striking out five. Hayden West pitched the last inning and struck out all three batters he faced on 11 pitches.
