The Lake Lady Hornets swept a doubleheader from Leake Central to take two of three contests last week.
After a 10-3 loss to Enterprise on Monday, Lake responded with a doubleheader sweep of Leake Central, winning 6-4 and 9-5. On Thursday, the Lady Hornets lost a 9-3 decision to Bay Springs.
Lake will host Pelahatchie on Tuesday and will then travel to Stringer on Thursday. On Saturday, Lake will play in the Enterprise Tournament.
Enterprise 10, Lake 3
Enterprise used a pair of late four-run innings as they took a seven-run win over Lake on Monday.
Lake scored one in the first and two in the third and led 3-0 after three. Enterprise scratched back with two in the fourth to cut the lead to 3-2 and the Lady Bulldogs scored four runs in the sixth and seventh to take the win.
Lake had 10 hits in the contest and left 11 runners on base. Taylor Duncan was 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and one RBI. Landry LeBlanc was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles while Reagan Clark, Alana Edmonds, Kate Gladney, Josie Gibbs and Morgan Bounds each had singles.
Lake 6, Leake Central 4
The Lady Hornets built an early lead and hung on to take a two-run win over Leake Central.
Lake scored three in the second and single runs in the third, fourth and sixth innings and led 6-0. Leake Central scored one in the sixth and three in the bottom of the seventh to make it close.
Lake had 12 hits in the contest as Laurel Breland was 3-for-4 with a run scored. Regan Clark was 2-for-4 with a double while Kate Gladney was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Taylor Duncan had a two-run home run for her only hit. Kaytie Hillman, Morgan Bounds and Katlyn Lott each had singles and drove in a run.
Lake 9, Leake Central 5
Lake scored five runs in the last two innings to take a four-run win over Leake Central in the second game of a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Lake scored three in the first and one in the third to lead 4-0. After Lake scored one in the sixth inning, Leake Central scored two in the fourth and three in the sixth to tie the game at 5-5. Lake responded with four runs in the top of the seventh to take the win.
Lake had 10 hits in the contest as Taylor Duncan was 2-for-4 and Laurel Breland was 2-for-5. Reagan Clark had a three-run home run in the contest while Kaytie Hillman had a solo home run and also drew two walks. Kate Gladney, Landry LeBlanc and Josie Gibbs each had singles and scored runs.
Bay Springs 9, Lake 3
The Lady Bulldogs had nine hits in the contest and dropped a six-run decision to Bay Springs on Thursday.
Lake was led by Taylor Duncan who was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Morgan Bounds was 2-for-2 and scored a run. Kaytie Hillman had a single, scored and drove in a run. Josie Gibbs singled and also scored. Kate Gladney, Laurel Breland and Brantlee McGee also had singles for Lake.
