The Newton County Academy Lady Generals lost two games on the softball diamond last week.
The Lady Generals fell 13-4 to Wayne Academy on Monday and then lost 5-4 to rival Sylva Bay on Tuesday.
NCA, now 4-7 on the year, will host Kemper Academy on Monday in their only scheduled contest of the week.
Wayne 13, NCA 4
The Lady Generals fell behind early and dropped a nine-run decision to the Lady Jaguars on Monday.
NCA had 10 hits while Wayne had 13 hits but drew 11 walks. Ashlyn Mathis was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs while Jordan Russell was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Mallory Helm was 2-for-4 while Gracie Humphreys and Mary Kate Hardy each singled and scored a run.
Jordan Russell started and pitched 1 1/3 innings as she gave up 10 runs on six hits and four walks. Lilly Hollingsworth pitched the last 4 2/3 innings and scattered seven hits and three runs while striking out three.
Sylva Bay 5, NCA 4
The Lady Saints scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take a one-run win over the Lady Generals on Tuesday.
NCA outhit Sylva Bay 12-5 but committed five errors.
Cayden Alexander was 2-for-3 and scored a run while Gracie Humphreys was 2-for-3 and drove in a run. Mary Kate Hardy was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored while Lilly Hollingsworth was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Lilly Hollingsworth got the start and pitched all seven innings, giving up five unearned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three.
